Positive: Our stay at Matanovi Dvori near Plitvice Lakes was truly memorable: a spacious, peaceful retreat perfect after hiking. The property is wonderful: huge, with expansive outdoor space and apple trees ripe for picking (we made great apple strudel!). The apartment is fully equipped with essentials like spices, dishwasher soap, and laundry detergent - everything needed for a comfortable start. The owners were exceptionally kind, friendly, and quick to help. It was a truly excellent experience.

Negative: The main issue to be aware of, especially in cooler months, is the heating. The primary source is a wood-burning stove, and not all rooms have heating, making the house very cold when the fire isn't constantly stoked. Since maintaining the fire overnight is difficult, it was often very cold by morning. We recommend the owners install alternative heating methods like AC units to improve winter comfort. Despite the heating challenge, Matanovi Dvori is a fantastic, authentic, and spacious choice near Plitvice.
