Positive: The Vesel family homestead provides a wonderful opportunity to rest and relax in a beautiful but quiet area of Slovenia, away from the crowds. It’s surrounded by forests and hills if you want to go walking but the outdoor space of the homestead is also a perfect place to sit and read, sunbathe or doze. The house is spacious and cool in summer (as long as you keep the windows and doors closed during the day). I was there in a heat wave and didn’t feel any need for air conditioning. We had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay and were very happy. The hosts are exceptionally welcoming and friendly and happy to organise a range of activities for you (via the Booking.com messaging) if that’s what you would like. But there’s no pressure. We recommend the wine tasting session in the homestead Vinoteca. It was excellent value and very informative about life in Slovenia as well as local wines. Thank you very much to the Vesel family.

Negative: There was nothing not to like. Maybe one or two of the appliances in the kitchen are due an upgrade but nothing serious.

Summary: A wonderful location and exceptionally warm Slovenian hospitality
